If you have run across the October issue of TraditionalHome, I am sure you did not miss the major article towards the back of the
magazine entitled “Dreamy Indulgences”.
This article takes you room to room throughout the gorgeous Adamsleigh
Estate in Greensboro, North Carolina, unveiling visions of the finest in
furniture and design. Adamsleigh, a 22
room mansion lying on 13.5 acres, is one of the largest and most famous homes
in the city. It was designed by
Winston-Salem based Luther Lashmit in 1929.
Today, “it is considered to be North Carolina’s second most impressive
house, behind Biltmore in Asheville.” (http://www.robertbrowninteriordesign.com/adamsleigh_showhouse.html)
On page 121, you will come across a sophisticated and rustic
“Gentleman’s Retreat” on the lower level, designed by our very own Patrick
Lewis and Cindy Smith. “It would have
been an impossible task to lighten the windowless room, so we chose to embrace
the dark vibe,” Cindy says. For more on
the house and the various seating areas in the Gentleman's Retreat, grab your own copy of the
latest Traditional Home.
