Suzanne Kasler's Collection for Hickory Chair

Axel Vervoordt's Timeless Interiors $75

Axel Vervoordt: The Story of a Style $95
Axel Vervoordt's Timeless Interiors has been a wonderful inspiration for many of Circa's designers. His new book Axel Vervoordt: The Story of a Style tells the story of where he finds his own inspiration.

  1. This is one of my favorite books and a constant source of inspiration for my home renovations (http://garvinweasel.blogspot.com). The first edition of Story of a Style was published Jan 2002 and now commands up to $800 per copy. You can buy all of his books, and catalogs of his curated exhibitions (Artempo, Academia, and Infinitum), on his web site (www.axel-vervoordt.com). They are typically published in Europe first; I ordered Timeless Interiors from Amazon.co.uk six months before it was available in the states. You can also purchase them in Antwerp at his Kanaal shop or by visiting Kasteel s-Gravewezel, the subject of this book. He opens the castle to public twice a year for a series of two-weekend winter and summer exhibitions. The winter one begins next weekend for anyone lucky enough to be in Belgium. I met him in his 'cabinet' there in December 2007 found him a warm and gracious host and I highly recommend the experience. If you are a true Axel devotee, you can search keyword 'AV1' on YouTube for a Vervoordt family interview (in Flemish) in the Oriental Salon at the castle. The french web site interieurs.fr also has a good video interview (in french). Love live Axel Vervoordt!
